Answer #1:
You can prevent overeating by planning out your meals and portion size beforehand and exercising 30 minutes a day is enough. Just make sure you eat healthy.Answer #2:
hello. i am 5'4'' and trying to lose some weight as well.1. i, too, have a problem with overeating. but what i have noticed is that if you eat slowly, you can stop eating when you feel full. i suggest that you lower your caloric intake to about 1,500 (don't drop it any lower than 1,200) per day. snack twice a day, but only on healthy things like baby carrots or half of an apple. obviously, try to eat healthy. and generally, that will take care of overeating. just like magic. :)
2. in order to lose one pound, you must burn 3,500 calories. you said that you're exercising for 30 minutes on the elliptical (burns 308 calories per HALF hour) and yoga (burns 150 calories per HALF hour). for someone of your age/gender/height, and assuming you participate in light activity throughout the day, you burn 1,800 calories everyday just doing whatever you do in a day. in short, you can probably burn about 5 pounds. it's all in the math! hah. remember, losing weight takes patience!
3. yes, exercising on the elliptical for 30 minutes and doing yoga is PERFECT. though, pace yourself. if you're not so used to exercising so much in one day, then start out small. maybe 15 minutes on the elliptical, and go up 5 minutes per day, until you get to half an hour. you don't want to do this much for a week, then burn out. (i've done THAT one, before haha).
4. i suggest you join Click Here or Click Here for motivation. it's nice to know that there are people out there with the same goals as you! write down your reasons for wanting to lose weight, and hang it on your wall, so you can read it every morning and remind yourself why you're doing this. set small goals for yourself, each week. by the end of the week, if you 've accomplished this goal, reward yourself with a NON-FOOD item, like a new shirt or a DVD you've wanted to watch. find support from your friends, your family, those two websites above, anything you can to help you along the way. trust me, it is difficult to do it alone. but you can definitely do it, if you're determined :)
